KPRC 2 has obtained more camera angles from a fast-food restaurant that was in the direct pathway of Shamsud-Din Jabbar’s truck as it sped through Bourbon Street during his deadly terrorist attack.
KPRC 2′s Gage Goulding spoke with Al Morris, the manager at the Krystal restaurant located at 116 Bourbon Street in New Orleans. That’s on the same block where Jabbar rammed his truck into a crowd of people on New Year’s Day. Morris provided us with all of the footage you see below.

This first angle has been circulating online in the days following the attack. It shows several large groups of pedestrians casually walking on the street, as the truck’s headlights suddenly come into the frame. As the truck accelerates, people desperately rush to the sidewalk and head into the Krystal.
One woman in particular barely escaped getting run down by the truck.
“[The woman] was literally two feet away at 65 miles an hour. She was very lucky and thank God that she didn’t get hit.” Morris told Gage.
The next angle shows a camera facing the other side of the street. You can see people initially taking several steps toward the sidewalks, likely confused as to why a truck is even on Bourbon Street. As Jabbar picks up speed, that confusion shifts to panic.
The next camera angle faces the front door of the Krystal restaurant. Several groups are seen hanging out inside near the door, having casual conversations. In an instant, a crowd of people begin to shove their way through the doorway, a loud crashing noise is heard, and the truck races by through the windows.
Morris described what the moment was like from inside the restaurant.
“I heard a loud, loud noise,” Morris said. “It sounded like metal. The truck was moving at a high rate of speed, of course... I told the guys, I’m like, ‘This is not good. Lock the doors.’”
The final camera angle is from further inside the restaurant. It shows people casually sitting at a table, chatting and eating. When the truck speeds by, horrified pedestrians flood into the building, some even diving to the ground and crawling under tables. The restaurant patrons quickly notice that something is wrong, and everyone eventually starts looking outside to see what’s going on.
