There has been a new update in the “revival” of the fallen Enron company, as they introduced a new product that they say can “power your entire home for up to 10 continuous years.”
On Monday, the company unveiled its new “micro-nuclear reactor”, called the “Enron Egg.”

The rollout included a five minute, 26 second announcement video akin to a vintage Steve Jobs Apple product introduction.
In the video, “Enron CEO” Connor Gaydos makes several outlandish claims, including that Enron has teamed up with FEMA to provide Enron Eggs to first responders all across the world.
It probably goes without saying, but this rollout is not serious.
The former Houston-based company, which was the subject of one of the largest bankruptcy filings in U.S. history more than 20 years ago, reemerged with a sudden “rebranding” in December. This came as a shock to many, but it quickly became evident that the new version of the company was made to exist as a satirical movement rather than a sincere business.
My take on the ‘Enron Egg’
Parody companies are far from a new phenomenon. After all, satirical news websites like The Onion have found success in the field of commentary-through-spoof, and a “let’s say something ridiculous and see if anyone bites” mindset.
Even so, this entire product rollout seems like a lot of effort for a pretty cheap bit. While it’s entertaining to lampoon the excentric leaders in tech with their larger-than-life rollouts, it’s something that’s been done before. Ironically, it seems like the former energy company might be putting too much gas into this bit.
But then again, maybe I’m just not in on the joke!
