The pre-treatment efforts are crucial as temperatures inside the Beltway are expected to dip as low as 30°F, with wind chills making it feel even colder. These measures aim to minimize disruptions and ensure safe travel for residents, especially as many children return to school this week.
While this cold front is not as severe as previous freezes, TxDOT advises all residents to remain cautious while driving.
Be on high alert for potentially slick spots on roads and bridges and allow extra travel time to reach your destination safely.
