Delivery Drama: Amazon driver dumps packages in Montgomery neighborhood

‘What’s interesting is, it’s like zero effort of trying to hide.’

MONTGOMERY, Texas – Have you ever had an Amazon package go missing, never to show up at your front door? Well, there might be an answer as to what happened to that box.

An Amazon delivery driver is accused of dumping perfectly good packages in a Montgomery neighborhood.

People who live in the Fairwater subdivision in Montgomery say they’ve spotted the driver parked in their neighborhood at odd times, only to find undelivered Amazon packages in a vacant lot after the driver leaves.

“There has been actually dozens of them just dumped over here,” said Trinity Nieto.

For months, neighbors have reported finding packages intended for their homes dumped in the underdeveloped area, with some labels removed, making it difficult for the items to reach whoever ordered them.

Despite multiple reports to Amazon, neighbors tell KPRC 2′s Gage Goulding that the problem persists, leaving residents concerned and seeking a resolution.

Recently, Trinity Nieto, who has seen the delivery driver dumping packages, discovered two boxes in the lot that were not addressed to anyone in the subdivision, but rather to an address miles away.

“I don’t know if he’s just not meeting his quota. I really unsure of what his motive is,” she said.

Her husband, who used to work for the post office and deliver packages, said it could be simple laziness.

“I’ve had a truck full of packages I had to deliver in two hours,” Joshua Nieto said. “They look at it and say, ‘I can’t do that.’ So, instead of delivering them, maybe just dumping them in a place where people possibly may not look and see.”

While KPRC 2′s Gage Goulding couldn’t find any packages dumped while out in the neighborhood on Tuesday, he did find some good in the community.

Trinity put on her delivery driver hat and personally delivered the packages that she found last Friday. But Nieto knows this isn’t going to be the case for all the packages.

So, what’s the answer?

Amazon sent KPRC 2 the following statement:

“We’re looking into this and will take appropriate action once we have additional information.”
