HOUSTON – FBI agents have found a cooler inside a storage unit in northwest Harris County similar to the one that was found after the deadly New Orleans attack, the agency confirmed Tuesday.
Agents, along with deputies from the Sheriff’s Office, were investigating the storage unit Monday night.

Several law enforcement officials were seen in and out of at least one storage unit at SpareBox Storage on Walters Road.
Inside the cooler, officials said they found commercially available bottles of sulfuric acid. The bottles were reportedly purchased at a nearby hardware store in Houston.

Investigators also said “there is no threat to public safety at this time.”
Here’s the FBI’s complete (updated) statement:
“I can confirm that FBI Houston and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were present at the 11900 block of Walters Rd last night conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity related to the Bourbon Street attack.
FBI Houston cleared that location at approximately midnight. There was, and is, no threat to public safety at this time in relation to that activity.”
Earnest Washington rents a unit at the same facility.
“You wouldn’t believe that, you know, so close to home that this could be going on. I feel like who knows what’s in here now,” said Washington.
Washington said he never saw Jabbar at the storage facility where it is typically quiet. Employees are not typically seen onsite with the storage facility having self service kiosks.
“I’ve never seen anybody; I’ve never been to office. You normally put your pin in the gates open, you do what you got to do and then you know, you know, you leave,” said Washington.
KPRC 2 reached out to SpareBox Storage. The employee who answered the phone said they did not wish to comment.
