Posting requirements for house numbers in Houston
The City of Houston requires residential unit numbers to be displayed within 18 inches of the principal entrance, unless otherwise approved by the fire marshal.
Numbers must be at least four inches high, in a contrasting color to their background, and permanently affixed to the structure.
For multi-unit buildings, numbers must also be posted at the ends of each building. If only one end is visible from the street or driveway, numbers are required only on the visible end.
