HOUSTON – You just never know whose life you’ll touch and for fan-favorite musician Post Malone, one Houston bartender’s life was changed forever.

It was the night before Christmas at The Railyard in the Galleria area on San Felipe hours before Post Malone—whose real name is Austin Post—joined Houston native Beyonce at NRG Stadium. He and fellow artist Shaboozey stopped by the popular drink spot to enjoy some cocktails with fans and bar regulars, who actually covered all of his drinks that evening.

Post, however, insisted on being charged so he could leave a tip. Renee Brown, the bartender, was closing out her shift and to her surprise, saw the “Circles” singer left her a $20,000 tip.

“I try to go above and beyond to take care of all of our customers and loved seeing them interact with Post Malone when he visited—he was so genuine and made everyone feel comfortable,” Brown said via a statement.

A single mother of one, Brown works two jobs when she isn’t homeschooling her daughter. Still, she said that doesn’t stop her from doing the very best and then some. Post, a father of one himself, arguably saw that when the multi-award-winning singer, known for hits like “Rockstar” and “Better Now” interacted with her and other patrons.

“His generosity with this life-changing gift blew me away,” Brown added. “This definitely wasn’t the Christmas Eve I was expecting, but one I’m forever thankful to have had.”

Trey Melcher, The Railyard owner, says it’s not the first time celebrities have paid the tavern a visit. With sports streaming on their TVs, easygoing vibes, and arcade games, it probably won’t be the last time either.

“We are so grateful for Post Malone’s generosity during his visit,” he said. “One of the most amazing things about this bar is that you never know who is going to walk through the door. In the past, we’ve had visits from celebrities, but this unexpected act of kindness made all of our holiday seasons brighter.”
