While the situation remains active, officials have assured the public that there is no immediate threat to the community. However, residents are urged to steer clear of White Circle to allow law enforcement to operate safely and efficiently.

In an update later Wednesday, Huntsville Police identified the suspect as Ethan Amaya. They say he is wanted out of Lubbock County in connection to a murder that occurred there on January 4.

“Huntsville PD Investigators learned that Amaya fled to Huntsville and quickly moved to apprehend him at a residence on White Circle. Other occupants in the residence complied with orders to come out, while Amaya did not. Repeated efforts to have him surrender himself have been made. Additional law enforcement resources have been summoned to the scene, and we will continue to resolve the situation peacefully,” the department said on Facebook.

The department has stated they will provide updates as the situation unfolds.
