A Houston family is desperately searching for their beloved dog, BB, after she was stolen on New Year’s Eve near Parker Elementary School in the Westbury neighborhood. The six-year-old, 8-pound tan poodle was taken between 8:30 and 9 p.m. by a man wearing a yellow high-visibility vest, who reportedly grabbed her and drove away.

Josephine Laurenzo, BB’s owner, shared that the incident occurred while her mother was walking BB and their other dogs at Parker Elementary. BB wandered a short distance away, and as her mother gathered the other dogs, she saw the man exit his car at the corner of Atwell Drive and Willowbend Boulevard, grab BB, and drive off despite her frantic barks.

“My mom heard BB barking loudly, which she later learned is a typical sound dogs make when being grabbed by a stranger. She saw a man in a yellow high-visibility vest grab BB and drive away, ignoring her calls to stop.”

The family has taken extensive steps to locate BB, including contacting the police, posting on neighborhood apps like Nextdoor and Reddit, and even running Facebook ads. Unfortunately, security cameras in the area either weren’t operational or didn’t capture the man’s vehicle.

BB was wearing a light-up collar at the time, and her family hopes this detail, along with her distinct tan fur and small size, will help someone recognize her.

“She’s incredibly precious to us,” Laurenzo said. “We’ve loved her since she was just eight weeks old. She also has two newborn puppies at home who need her care.”

The family is offering a $1,000 cash reward for BB’s safe return. They emphasize that no judgment will be passed if the dog is returned, as their main priority is reuniting BB with her family.

If you have information about BB’s whereabouts, please contact the family immediately through the email or phone number provided in their posts.

BB’s family is pleading with the community to share this story widely. “We’re heartbroken but remain hopeful that someone will see her and help bring her home,” Laurenzo said.
