We’re just two days away from the Houston Texans’ Wild Card playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers, and the team reached out to a prominent local artist to hype up the fans.

Lecrae, a Houston-born rapper known for spreading his Christian faith through his music, was featured in a hype video ahead of the big game.

In the video, the four-time Grammy award winner compares every football season to a song, drawing reference to the highs and lows of the Texans’ 2024 campaign that ultimately carried them to a position to compete for a Super Bowl.

“The next verse is just around the corner, and believe me, when that beat drops, anything can happen,” Lecrae said. “This is our song, this is our town, this is our team. So, let’s turn the volume up and let the world hear what we’re about. H’s up, H-Town.”

Lecrae has been active in the music industry for more than 20 years, paving his way as one of the most influential voices in hip hop and Gospel music. Along with the aforementioned Grammy wins, he has also earned BET and Billboard Music Awards. In 2004, he also founded Reach Records, an independent record label specializing in Christian rap music.
