Astros sign SP Framber Valdez to 1-year, $18 million contract to avoid arbitration

The Houston Astros have agreed to a salary with starting pitcher Framber Valdez, locking up the lefty for 2025 and avoiding arbitration.

The signing comes just two days after former Astros starting pitcher Justin Verlander signed a 1-year deal with the San Francisco Giants worth $15 million.
