Houston firefighter hurt after falling through roof while battling fire at Galleria townhome

HOUSTON – The Houston Fire Department says a firefighter has been taken to a nearby emergency room after being injured while fighting a fire at a townhome in the Galleria area.

The department says the fire happened at 2668 Bering Drive.

No one else was injured in the fire. HFD says the firefighter was hurt after falling through the roof of the apartment home. He is being checked out and his injuries are not life-threatening.

The house was being remodeled at the time and no one was inside the home.

Crews are investigating the cause of the fire.
