Search continues for man who escaped custody at Bellville hospital

BELLVILLE. Texas – The search continues for a man who escaped from law enforcement custody while undergoing testing at a hospital in Bellville.

Salvador Saucedo was able to escape custody around 7 p.m. Thursday night while at Mid Coast Medical Center.

He had been in custody on charges of possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and assault on a peace officer, according to the Waller County Sheriff’s Office. The Austin County Sheriff’s Office said Saucedo is also a registered sex offender wanted for stalking and indecency with a child out of Brazos County.

Officials say he was not wearing handcuffs at the time he escaped and it is unclear if he is armed or not.

He was last seen wearing an orange shirt and blue jeans.
