Woman hospitalized after being clipped by HPD vehicle while crossing street in NE Houston

HOUSTON – A woman was taken to the hospital after police say she was hit by an HPD vehicle while she was crossing the street Thursday.

Houston Police said it happened around 6:30 p.m. on Homestead Road near Ley Road in the Trinity Gardens area.

According to police, the officer was driving on Homestead Road. The woman was reportedly wearing dark clothing and was crossing the street and was not in a crosswalk.

The officer tried to miss her, but ended up clipping her with his vehicle.

Police say the woman was conscious and talking when she was taken to the hospital.
