According to the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office, deputies responded to the 5800 block of Fallengate Drive just after midnight Friday after getting reports of a small child locked out of a house.

When they arrived, deputies learned the child’s mother, identified as Mann, had locked the child out of the house in just her pajamas. Deputies say the temperature outside was 43 degrees at the time.

The constable’s office said Mann was refusing to let the child back inside the house even though the child was banging on the door of the home and saying she was cold.

Neighbors also allegedly told deputies that they had witnessed the child being locked outside the home on several other occasions.

The girl was taken to a local children’s hospital as a precaution. CPS was also contacted.

Mann was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail.
