The all-clear has been given after a bomb threat at the Brazoria County Courthouse Campus in Angleton on Thursday.
While there’s no longer a threat, the courthouse will stay closed for the rest of the day and reopen on Friday, Feb. 28. Authorities found no materials or devices that could be a danger to the community.
“We know today has been stressful for many, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as authorities worked to ensure the safety of our community, All roadways will reopen soon, but please allow time for normal traffic flow to resume,” BCSO updated in a Facebook post.

Officials said they confirmed the threat at 8:41 a.m., prompting an evacuation within a two-mile radius around the courthouse. The threat was initially reported near the intersection of Chenango and East Locus.
BCSO, along with federal, state, and local authorities, including the FBI Houston, Texas DPS, and the Department of Energy, responded to the situation. Dogs and drones were utilized to aid the investigation.
BCSO made sure the evacuation area was completely clear and that all county employees were safely evacuated.

Officials urged everyone to avoid the area within a two-mile radius of the courthouse. The following roads were closed as BCSO accessed the area:
- Live Oak & Velasco
- Magnolia (between Arcola & Velasco)
- Cedar & Arcola
- 288B & Cedar
- CR 274 & Cedar
- CR 274 & Locust
- Magnolia & Velasco
- Magnolia & Front St.
- Magnolia & Chenango
- Arcola & Magnolia
All roadways are reopening and authorities ask that commuters be patient as normal traffic flow resumes.
