2 dead after motorcycle crash on 610 South Loop, shutting down freeway for hours

HOUSTON – Two people are dead after a crash involving a motorcycle on the 610 South Loop Freeway.

It happened around 1 a.m. on the eastbound lanes at FM-521 Almeda Road. Houston police confirmed two people died but did not disclose how the crash between the car and motorcycle happened.

It’s also unclear if the individual deaths were on the motorcycle or if it was the motorcyclist and someone inside the vehicle, respectively.

All lanes were shut down toward Fannin Street while police investigated, but the freeway reopened around 6 a.m.
