Houston’s Girl Scouts are getting a major sales boost, thanks to Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale, who is buying $500 worth of cookies from every troop that takes on his challenge.
The Gallery Furniture owner has pledged to buy $500 worth of cookies from every troop that takes on the challenge, making him the largest individual purchaser of Girl Scout cookies in Houston this season.

With dozens of troops participating, total sales are expected to reach $50,000. The event not only helps the Girl Scouts reach their fundraising goals but also offers them a hands-on business lesson as they pitch their products to one of Houston’s most famous entrepreneurs.

“It’s more than just a cookie sale—it’s an opportunity for young leaders to practice public speaking, build confidence, and embrace the values of the Girl Scouts,” Mack said.
The sales challenge, held at Gallery Furniture, gives the young entrepreneurs a chance to sharpen their skills while interacting with Mack.
Mack also said he plans to use the cookies in a special way that will “surprise and delight” Houstonians.
