HOUSTON – Isaiah Martin, who recently announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Texas’ 18th Congressional District, is now facing a lawsuit filed by Grassroots Analytics, Inc.
The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, accuses Martin and his campaign of breach of contract, alleging unpaid fees for services rendered during his previous congressional bid.

Grassroots Analytics, a technology firm known for supporting political campaigns with data-driven insights and fundraising strategies, claims that Martin’s campaign failed to pay over $200,000 owed for services provided. The firm asserts that despite fulfilling their obligations under a Services Agreement signed in July 2023, the campaign has not compensated them for the fundraising support and associated expenses.
Martin, in a statement to KPRC 2, said Grassroots Analytics failed to hold up their end of the contract, “GA’s lawsuit fails to mention that they previously breached the contract with the campaign by failing to deliver the agreed upon services, as well as by prematurely terminating the contract without proper notice to switch sides in the race to work with another candidate in the same race,” Martin said. “The campaign intends to defend itself and pursue all available counterclaims against GA.”

The lawsuit details that Grassroots Analytics conducted a text messaging campaign on behalf of Martin’s campaign, utilizing third-party services to solicit contributions. However, the campaign allegedly did not honor the agreed payment terms, including a 10% late fee for overdue payments.
This legal challenge comes as Martin embarks on another run for Congress, following his previous campaign during Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s mayoral bid. Martin, who served as Jackson Lee’s Senior Advisor, now faces competition from Harris County Attorney Christian D. Menefee and former Houston City Council Member Amanda Edwards.
Isaiah Martin Campaign released the following statement:
GA’s lawsuit fails to mention that they previously breached the contract with the Campaign by failing to deliver the agreed upon services, as well as by prematurely terminating the contract without proper notice to switch sides in the race to work with another candidate in the same race. The Campaign intends to defend itself and pursue all available counterclaims against GA.
We need to focus on fighting Donald Trump, protecting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, and saving our economy - that should be the focus of this election. Not the same old political games. I look forward to earning the support of the 18th Congressional District and turning the page on this tired brand of politics.
