Human trafficking, prostitution raids target multiple massage parlors in Galveston County

LEAGUE CITY, Texas – Two illegal massage parlors were raided Thursday in Galveston County for human trafficking and prostitution, according to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives gathered evidence through surveillance, interviews, and undercover operations, leading them to Royal Thai Massage, located at 1825 E. Main Street, League City, Texas, and Leela Thai Massage, located at 17333 El Camino Real, Houston, Texas.

Officials said the businesses were operating as fronts for prostitution-related activities.

KPRC 2′s Bryce Newberry was at the Royal Thai Massage location during the raid, where there was a heavy police presence. At one point, investigators were seen loading bags of evidence into the back of an unmarked vehicle.

As part of the investigation, search warrants were executed at the massage parlors and at a suspect’s apartment in the Caroline Apartments in Houston.

The suspect, Ying Qui Yang Brown, 57, was arrested during the raid for aggravated promotion of prostitution.

The case remains active, with additional charges pending against others involved in the operation.

The operation was led by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Organized Crime Task Force, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, and Unbound. The FBI also responded to the raid.
