Details are limited due to how active the investigation is, but police tell KPRC 2 they were called to the scene just before 7 p.m. Homicide detectives confirmed the remains are human, but it’s unclear how long they’ve been out there.

It’s also unclear who the remains belong to and what the cause and manner of death is.

Lt. Crowson says a medical examiner will determine how the individual died and try to determine their identity.
