In a post on X, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said deputies were called to a home on Barkers Crossing Avenue in west Harris County, where the mother had been hurt by her three teenage children.

According to his post, the three siblings: ages 14, 15, and 16 “allegedly coordinated a plan to try and kill the mother” after she turned the Wi-Fi off.

“Because the mother turned off the Wi-Fi, all three grabbed kitchen knives and chased her throughout the house and into the street, attempting to stab her,” Sheriff Gonzalez said. “The mother was struck with a brick. In the process, the grandmother was knocked over while trying to protect the mother. No serious injuries were sustained by either adult female.”

A neighbor told KPRC2 Reporter Corley Peel a girl ran from the home asking for help calling 911 during the time of the incident. Several other neighbors told Corley they hear yelling and see deputies outside the home on a regular basis.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s office, this is the third time deputies have been called to the home since January. The other calls include a runaway juvenile and a disturbance involving children who were fighting.

A neighbor who asked to remain anonymous said the neighborhood is always on edge.

“I don’t even let my kids come outside because of them,” said the neighbor.

All three of the teens were arrested and are facing felony charges for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
