A recent study by FlashPicks analyzed Google search data from January to March 2025 to uncover the top game-day foods Texans are searching for, and these choices are as classic as they come.
The number one game day food in Texas is the classic hot dog. With 121,500 searches this year alone, it’s clear that Texans love their hot dogs on game day—averaging about 40,500 searches per month.
Coming in at second place are fried chicken and hamburgers, both with 99,300 searches.
At number four, we have burritos, with 81,300 searches—a nod to the state’s love for Tex-Mex. Mac & cheese comes in fifth with 66,600 searches, proving that comfort food never goes out of style when you’re glued to the game.
What’s missing? Barbecue. But honestly, I’m not that surprised. Texans don’t need to Google barbecue for our next brisket fix; it’s always ready to go.
Across the country, hamburgers are the most popular game-day food, taking the top spot in 17 states. Hot dogs, fried chicken, and jambalaya are also favorites, but here in Texas, we’re sticking to our classics.
