Second suspect in Brookshire teenager’s murder taken into custody in Chicago

BROOKSHIRE, Texas – Brookshire Police have announced the second suspect in the 2024 murder of a 18-year-old has been taken into custody.

Juan Carlos Rodriguez Jr. was shot and killed on Aug. 30, 2024, in the parking lot of the Willow Springs apartment complex located in the 4400 block of 5th Street in Brookshire.

Two suspects were identified in the case. Justin Anthony, 17, was taken into custody on Sept. 5, 2024.

On Tuesday, Brookshire Police announced the second suspect, Eric Antoine Watts, 17, was arrested on Monday.

Brookshire Police say Watts was found In Chicago, Illinois and is currently being held at a juvenile detention center there as he awaits extradition back to Waller County. He will be charged with murder.
