Lt. Larry Crowson with HPD says officers were called around 6 p.m. to the office building in the 7100 block of Harwin Drive.
Crowson said several employees went to check on a fellow employee they hadn’t seen for a while. The employees found the 34-year-old inside his office.
Officials say the man had some type of trauma to his body, and later confirmed to KPRC 2′s Corley Peel he was stabbed to death.
The building is home to several businesses and one witness told Corley he knew the victim and described him as very helpful to the Afghan community.
Family members identified the man killed as Abdul Niazi, a former Afghan marine who fought alongside U.S. forces in Afghanistan. He lost the use of both his legs in battle, requiring him to use a motorized wheelchair.

On Thursday, Houston Police announced a suspect has been arrested in the case.
Masiullah Sahil, 37, is charged with murder in connection to the Niazi’s death.
Court documents allege Sahil admitted to Niazi’s wife that he stabbed and killed her husband.
