HPD: Mother shoots son during argument in East Houston

HOUSTON – A mother shot her son during a heated argument in East Houston, according to police.

It happened at a home on Valencia Drive near the East Freeway at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

The man in his 50s was shot in the chest in the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators said his mother, in her late 70s, pulled the trigger during a heated argument.

She was detained and a gun was recovered from the scene.
