Houston – The man accused of threatening a woman with a machete during a road rage incident last week has been bailed out of jail after his arrest on Tuesday.
Investigators identified the suspect, who was wanted at the writing of this article, as 71-year-old Lawrence Taylor. He has since been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to court documents, the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. on March 26 along Highway 249 near Grant Road in northwest Harris County.
Authorities say the woman was on her way to work when Taylor began yelling at her.
Court documents describe what happened next as a frightening confrontation.
The woman told investigators that Taylor pulled his vehicle in front of her car, exited his vehicle with a machete in his hand, and began making threats.
According to the arrest warrant, he said:
“Bi***, I’ll cut your god da** throat up” and “Get out b---h I’ll cut your motherf-----g head off”.
The woman said he knocked on her door as he was yelling expletives. As all of this was unfolding, she said she began to record the encounter on her cell phone.
KPRC 2 has also learned that Taylor has a prior criminal history. Court records show he pleaded guilty in 1995 to causing injury to a child under 15 and was placed on deferred adjudication.
Court documents also state Taylor is already out on bail for a pending marijuana case.
