Sgt. Mike Barrow with HPD’s Vehicle Crimes Division said both vehicles, a Toyota Corolla traveling on Pierce Street and a Dodge Charger on Hutchins Street, were approaching the intersection when they collided in a T-bone crash.

Police said there were five occupants in the Toyota and one person in the Charger. All six people were transported to a hospital.

Barrow said a male passenger from the Toyota died at the hospital, while another occupant remains in critical condition.

It is unclear whether either driver ran a stop sign or if impairment was a factor.

The crash remains under investigation.
