HOUSTON – A body was found in a Houston area bayou on Saturday evening by a fisherman.
The Houston Police Department is investigating along Greens Bayou, just off I-10 near Uvalde Road.
Officers responded around 6:34 p.m. on Saturday to the bayou after a man who had gone fishing spotted the body and called 911, Lt. Michael Pulido with the Houston Police Department said.
Police said the body was found along the edge of the bayou near the water.
Investigators said the victim is an adult man, but they have not been able to determine his age, race or identify any distinguishing features because the body appeared to have been in the water for several days.
“We don’t know the age or race or anything and that’s all the information we have right now,” Pulido said.

Houston Police homicide detectives, the department’s dive team and the Harris County medical examiner responded to the scene Friday night as crews worked to recover the body from the water.
Pulido said investigators do not currently believe the death is suspicious, though the investigation remains in its early stages.
“At this time, we don’t believe that’s the case,” Pulido said when asked whether investigators believed the body may have been dumped there. “We think this is just a random occurrence.”
Police said there is no known threat to the public.
The discovery is the latest body found in a Houston-area waterway in recent months. More than 200 bodies have been recovered from Houston bayous since 2017.
