Task force operation in north Harris County ends with woman in custody, man dead at scene

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A joint Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force operation in north Harris County ended with one suspect in custody and another dead, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the task force was attempting to apprehend two 100 block of West Road.

Investigators said the woman was arrested without incident. The man, who authorities said was armed, was later found dead at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officials said that law enforcement did not fire during the encounter and reported no injuries to officers.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office detectives and crime scene investigators were called in to process the area.
