HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a 2-year-old died in the crash that happened earlier Saturday afternoon in the Hockley area.
In a post on X, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated a U-Haul’s driver may have fallen asleep and crossed into the path of the Jeep with two children and their mother inside.

It happened intersection of Roberts Road and FM-2920.
The Jeep tried to avoid the truck and went into a ditch.
The mother, an 8-month-old child, and U-Haul’s driver went to the hospital with minor injuries.
The 2-year-old passed away at the scene.
