HOUSTON – Thunderstorms prompted an FAA alert affecting flights to and from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston Saturday morning, including a ground stop for some inbound traffic.
The FAA issued a ground stop from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. CDT (June 21) for departures to IAH because of thunderstorms. The agency said the probability of extension is medium (30–60%).
In addition, a broader ground delay program remains in effect from 7:53 a.m. to 10:59 a.m. CDT, with average delays around 57 minutes for departures to Houston.
