Baytown man shot while grilling in park; teen suspects at large

BAYTOWN, Texas – A Baytown man was shot and airlifted to a hospital Tuesday night after an argument at a local park escalated into gunfire, according to radio transmissions.

The shooting happened around 10:11 p.m. at 1502 Nolan Road. The victim, described by a neighbor as a man in his late 60s, was barbecuing in the park when two teenagers began arguing with him. The dispute quickly turned violent.

The man was treated for a gunshot wound to the abdomen at the scene before being life-flighted to an area hospital. Radio transmissions indicated he had a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 14 out of 15, suggesting he was in stable condition.

The two teen suspects fled the scene and remain at large. Baytown police are actively searching for them.
