SH-225 at Richey Street reopens after being closed for hours due to hazmat spill

A hazmat spill involving a heavy truck has shut down most westbound lanes of State Highway 225 near Richey Street Friday morning, according to Houston TranStar.

The incident was verified at 11:59 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities say the crash involves a heavy truck and a hazardous materials spill, blocking the:

• Left shoulder
• Right shoulder
• Left lane
• Center lane
• Right lane

Only one westbound lane remained open Friday morning as crews work to respond to the incident and clean up the spill. As of 10:50 a.m., all lanes have been reopened.
