HOUSTON – A Houston family is mourning a mother who was killed early Saturday after police say a man returned to a southeast Houston home and opened fire, striking four people.
The shooting happened around 2:37 a.m. at a home in the 9300 block of Fairland Drive, near Wilmington Street.

Houston police said the suspect had argued with a woman he was dating before leaving the home. Investigators said he later returned with a gun and shot four people, then ran away.
Rosalyn Williams’ family said she had picked up a friend who was involved in a domestic dispute and brought the friend to her home. They believe Williams was trying to help the woman when the shooting happened.
Williams was killed. Her daughter, Latonja Williams, described her mother as “a good, stand-up woman” and said the shooter “came and took his anger out on everybody.”
The three surviving victims—two women and one man—were taken to local hospitals. Williams’ family said her husband was among those wounded. Police said the man was in critical condition and undergoing surgery, while the two women appeared to be stable.
Investigators believe the suspect’s girlfriend may have been one of the injured women, but they had not confirmed which woman was involved in the relationship. Police also had not determined the exact relationships among the other people at the home.
Williams’ aunt, Pretta Stallworth, said she was devastated when she learned about the shooting.
Police continued searching for the suspect, who fled on foot. No weapon had been recovered, and investigators were still processing the scene.
