Three men are in the hospital after a shooting at two locations in northeast Houston Wednesday morning, according to police.
The shooting happened around 1:15 a.m. near the 3600 block of Crane Street, with investigators working two separate scenes, one near Crane Street and East Street and another along the U.S. 59 feeder road.
Police said a man in his 40s was shot in the face and found lying in the street near a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch. Another man, believed to be about 29 years old, was also shot in the face.
A third man, in his early 40s, told police he heard gunfire, got out of his vehicle and was shot several times in the legs. He was able to drive to his brother’s home, where his brother took him to the hospital.
All three men were transported to area hospitals.
According to police, a witness reported seeing a man driving up and down Crane Street before the shooting, allegedly showing a pistol to several people and “talking trash.”
Several gunshots were heard shortly afterward.
Police said weapons and a large amount of alcohol were found inside the overturned vehicle near one of the shooting scenes.
A police helicopter was also brought in to search the area for anyone who may have fled on foot. No one was found during the search.
Several people were being questioned by investigators, but no suspects were in custody.
Police have not yet determined what led to the shooting or whether any of the three men who were shot may have been involved in the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
