HOUSTON – A Houston woman was shot during an attempted carjacking in the 2500 block of Eagle St. early this morning.
Around 2:30 a.m., Houston Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in progress. The victim, a woman in her mid-20s, was visiting her boyfriend when a male suspect approached her with a firearm and attempted to steal her car.
The suspect pistol-whipped the woman and shot her in the shoulder before fleeing the scene — without the vehicle. The victim ran to her boyfriend’s home for safety.
Houston Fire Department transported the victim to an area hospital. She is in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a Black male wearing dark clothing and a black-and-white hat. HPD searched the area but did not locate the suspect as of early Friday morning.
