MAGNOLIA, Texas – Thousands of people are without power near Magnolia in Montgomery County Tuesday evening.
CenterPoint Energy’s outage map shows approximately 15,000 people remain without power as of 9:30 p.m.

Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough says CenterPoint Energy has identified the source of the outages as transmission line issues. Keough says the lines are currently undergoing repairs.
“As the transmission line is fixed the grid can begin to be energized. I’m pressing for a timeline now on completion,” Keough said.
A viewer from the Magnolia area told KPRC 2 that they had been without power since around 6:30 p.m.

CenterPoint Energy released the following statement:
“We know that any outage is one too many for any of our customers that CenterPoint Energy has the privilege to serve. Earlier this afternoon, CenterPoint experienced an electric outage impacting approximately 37,000 customers in the Tomball and Cypress region. Separately, crews were performing planned infrastructure upgrade work in the area, however, this work was not related to the outage. Crews responded immediately to an equipment issue at an area substation and began addressing the situation and restoring customers immediately. So far, approximately 20,000 customers have been restored. There are approximately 100 frontline workers on-site restoring power safely and as quickly as possible to the remaining customers. Crews will continue working until all customers are restored. The company expects to have all customers from this outage restored tonight.”
