HOUSTON – Police are looking for four men accused of attacking a 78-year-old man outside his home in an attempted robbery.
“I guess they thought this was easy meat, but it wasn’t really for them,” said Pervez “Perry” Sukari who fought back.
Sukari said he was in the parking lot next to his town home in the 10800 block of Briar Forest Dr about 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28. He said when he got out of his car to walk home, he noticed four males walking past him.
“They walked past me so I thought, ‘Well they’re just walking.' Then as I was walking towards my home I saw a shadow behind me,” Sukari said.
He said that’s when the men started demanding money, pushed him to the ground and started kicking him.
"I saw him pull his foot back to kick me again, so I held my hand in front of my face, caught his foot and I pushed him so he fell,” the 78-year-old recounted. “Unfortunately, he fell on the grass , if he would have fallen on the concrete it would have broken his head.”
Sukari said he stood up, started yelling and his assailants took off. He was left with a fractured nose and bruise on the left side of his face.
An ambulance crew checked him out, and his injuries have since healed.
Sukari said he’s pleased with the way handled himself.
"I guess they thought this was easy meat, but it wasn't really for them,” Sukari said.
Police are looking for four black men, approximately 16-20 years old.
Two of the men appeared to be about 5 feet ten inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 160-170 pounds with short hair, white shirts and blue jeans.
The two other men were about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 150-160 pounds. A description of what they were wearing has not been released.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to charges and/or arrests in this case.
