HOUSTON – A man is in the hospital after being shot in the head and crashing his vehicle on US 290 near Highway 99.
Witnesses saw the vehicle veer off the road and into the median. Police said the man was shot in the right side of his head. The gun was found inside the vehicle.

The 35-year-old was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Investigators are working to determine the order of events leading up to the accident.
