HOUSTON – A man was rescued Wednesday after he fell off a ledge under a bridge.
Officials said the man was sleeping under the bridge on Holcombe at North MacGregor in the Texas Medical Center at 2:10 p.m. when he slipped off a ledge, falling 10 to 15 feet.
Emergency crews were called and used a basket to lift him up to the bridge and a waiting ambulance.
The man was alert and conscious when he was taken to a hospital to be checked out, officials said.
Traffic on the bridge was stopped until the scene was cleared. The bridge was reopened by 3:30 p.m.
