HOUSTON – Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner wants volunteers who helped with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts to track their hours using a new website.
Civic technologists helped create ReportYourHours.com, a website that volunteers can use to log how much time they spent on relief efforts.
One reason for the website is to help the city get full reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Civic technologists have also helped gather information on shelters and their needs, as well as making shelter locations easier to find for evacuees and volunteers.
"As we work through the weeks and months ahead, we look forward to continuing to benefit from their creativity and partnership," said Mayor Turner. "I also want to thank each and every volunteer who helped, and who continue to help, our City and our region recover from this historic storm."
City employees who helped with Harvey relief efforts also are encouraged to log their hours on ReportYourHours.com.
