HOUSTON – Memorial Hermann Health Plan will soon stop offering health insurance to individuals.
Alex Loessin, spokeswoman for Memorial Hermann, said that after Dec. 31, the health plan will no longer offer HMO or PPO insurance plans to individuals. However, the health plan will still offer Medicare Advantage plans and plans to businesses that provide insurance to their employees.

Customers who have individual health insurance through Memorial Hermann Health Plan will keep their coverage until the terms expire in 2018, according to Loessin.
Loessin said the change affects about 8,000 policy holders, who have already been notified of the change.
