HOUSTON – A Pasadena single mother of five whose law school graduation photos went viral has passed her bar exam after graduation.
Ieshia Champs, 33, graduated from Texas Southern University's Thurgood Marshall School of Law in April. The viral graduation photos that feature Champs' five children are just part of her story of triumph.

Champs lost her job, lost all of her belongings in a house fire and lost the father of two of her kids to cancer.
At one point, things seemed hopeless for Champs. She said she tried to take her own life. Champs said she will be looking for a job with a law firm or in government, but dreams of one day owning her own firm and becoming a federal judge.
“Don’t let your current situation determine your future circumstances,” Champs said. “I honestly believe people can make their struggles into their success story. … If God can do it for me, he can do it for someone else.”
Champs said she credits her children and God for helping her get back on track.
