Several students and staff members witnessed the incident and reported it to school administration.

The student was identified and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office accepted a charge of false alarm or report, a state jail felony, against the student. The student was taken to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.

“False alarms or threats of violence are taken very seriously. It is illegal to communicate false reports about emergencies, including bombings, fires, or other threats that can incite panic or result in emergency responses. Making false claims can have severe legal consequences, including criminal charges and long-term repercussions for the individual involved,” the sheriff’s office said. “Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the community that threats to a school, even in jest, are no laughing matter. Such actions disrupt the learning environment, cause fear, and strain school and law enforcement resources. We urge parents to have conversations with their children about the seriousness of making threats, whether real or false, and the potential life-long consequences they may face as a result.”

In September, Willis ISD had at least two incidents involving school threats, On September 24, a 15-year-old student at one school was charged after he was overheard making a threatening comment, allegedly saying “Shoot this place up,” while he was walking with friends down a hallway.

On September 23, authorities announced a 13-year-old student was charged after reportedly making social media threats against Willis High School, Brabham Middle School, and Lynn Lucas Middle School. Those threats were reportedly made via Snapchat.
