Man accused of aggravated assault turns himself in to Rosenberg authorities

ROSENBERG, Texas – Rosenberg police said a man wanted for aggravated assault turned himself in to authorities Thursday.

A day after asking for the public's help in finding an 18-year-old man wanted for assaulting another man outside a restaurant, the wanted man walked into police headquarters.

The incident happened around 1:13 a.m. on Sept. 24 at Ruchi's Restaurant, located in the 6900 block of Industrial Parkway.

Police said Alejandro Maldonado, of Rosenberg, was sought in connection with the aggravated assault.

Maldonado was supposed to turn himself in last week, but didn't do it until Thursday, police said. There was an active warrant for his arrest.

Police said the victim, who is in his 30s, suffered serious injuries, but has since been released from the hospital.
