Simone Eli joined KPRC 2 as a sports reporter/anchor in July 2014.
Simone came to Houston from FOX10 News in Mobile, Alabama. As the Sports Director at WALA, she anchored the weekday 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. shows and primarily covered SEC football (Alabama and Auburn) and high school football.

"I have a passion for connecting with people and telling their stories beyond the playing arena," she said. "My motto in life is 'Whatever it Takes,' and I strive be the best I can every day I step into the news station."
Simone is from Genoa, Ohio, and attended Bowling Green State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Journalism and her Master's of Education in Human Movement, Sports and Leisure Studies.
While at BGSU, Simone played on the Women's Division 1 basketball team. During her career she played on teams that won three Mid-American Conference Championships (2010, 2011 and 2012), saw two NCAA Tournament and two WNIT Tournament appearances. During one of those WNIT runs, her team advanced to the Sweet 16.
"My time as a collegiate athlete makes me a more effective sports journalist. I can better understand athletes, coaches, and the sports realm," she said.
Simone worked as a TV Play-by-Play, Color Analyst and Reporter for Buckeye Cable Sports Network covering a variety of sports. While at BGSU, Simone became the Sports Director at BG24 News, the university's campus television station. She headed that position for two years before working for BCSN.
In her free time, Simone enjoys being active, running, and lifting weights. She likes to play golf and occasionally try to cook. Simone's favorite sports include: college football, basketball and high school football.
