Suspect ID'd after teen is robbed, raped while waiting at railroad crossing in Angleton

ANGLETON, Texas – Angleton police announced that 29-year-old Jonathan Green was charged with aggravated sexual assault after he was identified as a suspect in a sexual assault that happened to a teenager who was waiting at a railroad crossing late Wednesday night.

Green was arrested at a home in the 700 block of S. Anderson Street, the department said on Facebook.

Channel 2 does not identify sexual assault victims, so we are not naming the victim, but we spoke to her mother, who said her daughter's rapist was especially brutal.

"He choked her, and he put her on the ground, and the whole time he had her choking," she said. "She's got lots of marks on her neck and you can see his fingerprints on her chin."

The teenager was sitting in her car at a railroad crossing at the 200 block of South Anderson just before midnight Wednesday night.

That's when the attacker opened an unlocked door, jumped in and pointed a gun at his victim.

"She just wasn't prepared for any of that," her mother said through tears. "She was just going to go home, that's all. She's a good girl, we had fun, we went to Christmas lights yesterday and she was just going home."

After stealing a few dollars from the teen's purse, the attacker forced her to drive to a nearby location.

Investigators said that's when he pulled her out of the car and raped her.
