HOUSTON – Shots have been fired near the campus of Worthing High School, according to officials.
The incident happened shortly Wednesday morning at 9215 Scott Street. Houston Independent School District police and Houston police are on the scene investigating.

HISD said the shots occurred in an area next to the school's parking lot, but not at the school.
The district said the school was put on lockdown at 9 a.m. for about 30 minutes.
There are no reports of injuries.
