The Woodlands named No. 2 best city in America to raise family, report says

Proving us right yet again, Niche released its 2018 Best Places to Live rankings, and not surprisingly, four Texas cities rank in the top 13 of best cities to raise a family.

Out of 228 ranked cities, The Woodlands is the second best city to raise a family in America, according to the report. Naperville, a city in Illinois, came in at the top of the rankings.

The rankings "explore 15,000+ cities, towns, and neighborhoods nationwide based on cost of living, public schools, safety, jobs, local amenities, and more. Data was analyzed from the U.S. Census, FBI, CDC, and Dept. of Ed., along with millions of resident reviews."

  • The Woodlands, Texas
  • Plano, Texas
  • Ann Arbor, Michigan
  • Arlington, Texas
  • Overland Park, Kansas
  • Irvine, California
  • Columbia, Maryland
  • Richardson, Texas
  • Bellevue, Washington
  • Cambridge, Massachusetts
  • Berkeley, California
  • Round Rock, Texas
  • Rochester, Miinnesota
  • Boulder, Colorado

The Woodlands also ranked No. 7 on the list of Best Cities to Live in America.

In Niche's Best Neighborhoods to Live in Houston rankings, Memorial came in at the top.

Also included in the Top 10 were Braeswood, Clear Lake and the Astrodome area.
